Foragers Foods Launched

Foragers Foods was launched on Saturday Feb 25th 2012 at GrowFORTH, a local food summit organised by Forth Environment Link.  The summit, at the Albert Hall in Stirling, was well attended with over 120 registered and many more visitors on the day.

Gary McAlpine of Foragers Foods looked after the Smallholders table in the GrowForth Garden CafĂ© whilst Joanne McAlpine visited several tables and stalls of interest including info on encouraging the declining bumble bee population and Central Scotland Green Network Orchard Grant Scheme.  There was an interesting and informative presentation by Mike Small of the Fife Diet and a tasty buffet lunch was provided by "catering@thecampus' from Forth Valley College.

It was a great forum for local food producers to network and meet local customers and we hope it’s the first of many events in the future.   Thanks to Carron Tobin of Rural Dimensions and all the volunteers for all their hard work in organising the event.
